Nov. 12th, 2004 11:35 amOne of the more fun aspects of my job is trying to troubleshoot foreign students' laptops. It is quite surprising just how much you can fix despite not knowing the langueage that windows is currently using, simply by being familiar with the layout of the dialogue boxes you're using. Chinese, Japanese and Korean are the usual run here, however I've just fixed a couple of networking/dial-up problems with a German-speaking laptop, entirely by feel.
It's a real buzz to be able to sort something like that, y'know?
