Twitter spammers.
May. 27th, 2009 11:27 amFor heaven's sake!
He's called 'Shudogg Marketing'. He's posted exactly 3 tweets, all of which are spam and in 27 days of his accounts existence, he's followed 1475 other users. And in case you had any doubt remaining at all that he was a spambot, his 'personal name' is '0Rn056'!
So, why the hell have 434 users been dumb enough to automatically click 'follow'?!

Date: 2009-05-27 11:41 am (UTC)Compare http://twitter.com/BrentSpiner and http://twitter.com/wilw with http://twitter.com/WilliamShatner (Hint, two of these I follow, the third is also the genuine article, but wasn't on my follow list for very long)
The tweets don't have to be especially difficult - or highbrow or pre-meditated either, especially for slightly specialist subject areas (like your theatre, say) As an example, the webcomics community (such as it is) has an active twitter presence that mostly chats with people and each other, gossips and jokes around a little - and that's all it takes. If you're interested in the subject matter, you are interested in what they are saying, so you stay for the - "Hey, I've got a new book out here!" comments. :)
