Well, I've not been adding posts recently 'cause I've been a busy, busy person. I'd hope to fill you all in on it later. However, today's breaking news is:

My Mobile's dying! <sob>

Yes, my trusty n-Gage has those out-of-warranty blues:

  • I've caught it having turned itself off a couple of times (always a giveaway with a Nokia)
  • It's developed a scattering of bad pixels which always show green (or possibly cyan, it's kinda hard to tell)
  • Application 'main' sporadiacally exits on startup (and then restarts)
  • ...and today, while trying to accept an incoming call, application 'telephone' raised an error, crashed and restarted.

Bugger.

I *have* a replacement phone waiting, a Nokia 6320, but it's not symbian and doesn't play cool games. On the *other* hand, it's lighter, smaller and has a camera - and a neat third party rubberised case. But I'll miss the Series 60 UI, I will.

Now, does anyone know how to transfer around 200 contacts from Series 60 to series 40/50?

The n-Gage is a monstrosity and well you know it. It deserves to die and be replaced. DEATH TO THE CURSED MOBILE!

I loved it! It was quirky and *worked*.

Nokia's quality control departnment sucks big rotten tomatoes however. :/

NOOOOO!

Not my favourite phone, but the Symbian Series 60 OS is nice.

As for the contacts... No idea as yet. Can it accept vCards? ;-)

Am hoping to find something that'll import and export to a different phone. The only 'generic' phone manager software comes in different flavours for symbian and non-symbian, and is pay-through-the-nose-ware.
